My Decision

First off, big shout out to my readers. It feels seventy-two times better when people take their time to read what you write and actually like it. Thanks for the comments, support and motivation.

When I said I was "gone till January," I didn't mean I would not post till then. Even though I didn't think I would have anything to say till then.

What's new? Still surviving in Nigeria and I still have no plans of running back to Toronto. I still haven't found love (but I might be crushing on a boy) and It looks like I will be going back to Osun state to finish up my service year (my connects are obviously finding this bit difficult to sort). To imagine some people were in a foreign country during their service year. It used to be that easy or maybe it still is and I just don't know the right people to holla at.

This whole NYSC stuff is putting a dent on my livelihood. I bet in my last post I was hella bent on redeploying to Lagos but at this very moment, I actually wanna go back to Osun state.

Here are my reasons:
When I'm in Lagos, there is always something to do, people to see and places to go. Not that there's anything wrong with that but I live with the parents and they are always tripping about coming home late for security and safety reasons, which I totally understand. When I have to be home at 8pm, which is when I wanna be out, there's conflict. I mean, no one beats or yells when I get home but I don't wanna make them worry every time I'm out. So, if I go back, I'll come to terms with the fact that I have nothing fun to do and maybe I can find and develop a skill. Use the time for self reflection before I have to fall completely into adulthood. Most importantly, I'll be on my own once again for about 10 months and maybe I can have boys over :D (I hope you are laughing cuz that was a joke).

Ever since I've made that decision, I have put a little more effort in finding a suitable apartment for myself. I do have a few things that I want in the apartment and I will not compromise.

It has to be a freshly painted 1 bedroom apartment preferably on the 10th floor or higher with a marvelous city view. A balcony and ceiling to floor windows. Stainless steel appliances and granite counter tops. Tiled right through(absolutely no carpet). Bathroom has to be freshly renovated, have a stand up shower and fancy towel hangers with an oversized mirror above the sink. One sink is fine since it's just me(needless to say but it has to have water running in abundance). Plenty closets, a standby generator and a maid to do laundry and dogsit Jagger while I go to my PPA. Just to mention a few important things. So far I haven't found anything but I'm still on the lookout.

I will be returning to Osogbo by the 3rd of January and something's gotta give. So if you know anyone who can help, please do not hesitate to contact me.

All my friends and "friends" that don't mind driving down. Please get ready cuz I might get needy.

Stay tuned for pictures of the apartment and my PPA. it's gonna be an amazing 10 long months.
